Real instruments in a browser DAW: samples, analog synths, and honest limits

· 1 دقیقه مطالعه· 0 بازدیدinstrumentsengineeringaudio

Every browser DAW hits the same wall: no native plugins, ever — the sandbox forbids it, for good reasons. So how do you compete with a desktop DAW's sound?

Samples first

The single biggest upgrade was sampled instruments: the Salamander grand piano (CC-BY), VSCO community-edition strings, harp and upright bass (CC0), and an acoustic kit. Sparse pitch maps — one recording every few semitones — and the sampler interpolates the rest. Every track has a voice picker: same notes, real instrument.

Then the analog palette

Some sounds should be synthesized. The 80s film-score palette — gliding mono leads, CS-80-style brass swells, huge slow pads — is pure synthesis, so we built it as first-class voices with portamento and vibrato. Für Elise on the grand and a Vangelis-style theme on the glide lead live on the same marketplace.

The honest limits

Everything above ships in every export — the WAVs you drop into Unity are rendered with the same instruments you heard in the browser.
