Minuet in F

An F major Moderato at 108 BPM in minuet form — the stately court dance that dominated European music from the 17th century through Haydn and Mozart. The minuet is in 3/4 time in tradition, but here arranged in 4/4 for the loop format, retaining the characteristic dotted-rhythm phrase openings and two-bar symmetry. F major (one flat, warm and round in register) suits the minuet's elegance: not too bright, not too dark. The I-V-vi-IV progression (F–C–Dm–Bb) is the same framework as much 18th-century dance music. Bar 6 reaches F5 at the peak, the same tonic an octave above the start — the classic classical way to create the sense of arrival before resolution.
